Getting our Bearings

Welcome to the blog, intrepid reader.

We are about to embark on a journey. I mean, we’re all on our own separate journeys, normally to separate destinations. Nevertheless, this journey–the blogging journey–is ours to share. And I’m so looking forward to your feedback and knowing that I’m not just sending words out onto some server where no one will ever read them.

I have ideas for how this blog is going to go, which I’m sure will turn out to be totally flawed. It goes something like this: I will update this about three times a week (or more if the mood strikes), on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. To reflect my varied interests, each of these days will have a theme. Mondays are for paper goods. You’ll find posts about my calligraphy and paper crafting. And then because my interests in crafting can’t be contained within a single medium, there’ll also be just crafts. And then if you thought Mondays couldn’t be any more complicated, I’ll also do posts about my other love (which does have something to do with paper) writing. Whew.

Wednesdays are for vintage and lifestyle. You’ll find my latest vintage finds, tips for vintage hunters, and posts about historical goodies. Additionally, I’ll post about travel, local things I love, and anything else I can think of that might be of interest.

Fridays are a little different–more focused. Friday will be devoted to my pet project: Baking for Bookworms, which takes two enormous passions of mine (baking and reading) and puts them together. So I’ll cook recipes or dishes from great books, talk about the books, show you the cooking process, and give you a recipe.

So let’s get started!
